Wanting the Strength to Protect People
One of the things I connect with most about Ichigo is that he doesn't seem to want power just so he can say he's the strongest.
He wants to become stronger because he wants to protect the people around him.
At the same time, there is also that fear of being powerless—of knowing something bad could happen and not being strong enough to stop it.
I understand both sides of that.
Wanting to protect people can push you forward, but feeling powerless can also make you want to become stronger than you were before.
That is part of what makes Ichigo's journey mean something to me. He gets overwhelmed, loses fights, doubts himself, and has to deal with things inside himself that he doesn't completely understand.
But he still keeps going.
He keeps trying to become stronger.
And he still doesn't give up.
